We&#8217;ll show you how!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>average water consumption<\/strong> of an individual in Austria is <strong>130 liters per day<\/strong>. The largest portion of this is used in households as utility water for showering and bathing, washing clothes, cleaning, or flushing toilets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reducing <\/strong>your personal water consumption is easier than you might think and can <strong>save money<\/strong> while also <strong>benefiting <\/strong>the <strong>environment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.home4students.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/AdobeStock_458906506-scaled-e1726479691843-1024x459.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-34388\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Almost all drinking water in Austria comes from protected groundwater sources. It reaches consumers in its natural state and with excellent quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How can i save water?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Only washing your laundry when the machine is full\ud83d\udc56<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Only do laundry when you have a full load! Running the washing machine with a half-empty drum is unnecessary. It\u2019s also important to remember that not every piece of clothing needs to be washed after just one wear. Sometimes, airing out your clothes or spot-cleaning stains is enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Turn off the water while soaping up and brushing your teeth.\ud83e\udea5<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>While you&#8217;re in the shower and lathering up, you can turn off the water and save several liters by doing so. Similarly, when brushing your teeth, the water doesn&#8217;t need to keep running. You can either turn the water on only when needed or use a cup filled with water for rinsing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Take showers instead of baths\ud83d\udca7<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The colder it gets, the more tempting it is to sink into a warm, full bath and relax. However, taking a bath uses significantly more water than showering. So, it&#8217;s worth thinking twice before running a bath and opting for a water-saving shower instead!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4.When buying a new machine: Buy a energy-efficient one\u267b\ufe0f<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In general, it\u2019s important to use and repair existing appliances until they can no longer be saved. However, if you need to purchase a new household appliance, make sure to prioritize water and energy efficiency. This way, you\u2019ll automatically save more water in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Austria, there is a &#8220;Reparaturbonus&#8221; (repair bonus), which makes repairs up to 50% cheaper.
